Heidegger's Onto-theo-logische Verfassung der Metaphysik (GA 11, the 1956/57 lecture-text "Die onto-theo-logische Verfassung der Metaphysik," printed pp. 51–80 — the volume has no §-numbering; citation_scheme: page; "GA 11 §1" locators corrected 2026-07-26) names the structural-constitutional shape of Western metaphysics — not a doctrinal-content claim about theology, but a claim about how metaphysics is constituted as one structure that conjoins ontology (the inquiry into Being-as-such) and theology (the inquiry into Being-as-highest-being) under a single architecture. The standard reading sometimes treats "onto-theo-logy" as a critique of theology within metaphysics; the structural-constitutional reading per the GA 11 lecture-text holds that the Verfassung (constitution) names the unified structure, with ontology and theology as its two moments held together by Austrag (per claims#ga11-austrag-as-wesensherkunft-of-onto-theo-logik live). Counterpressure / Limits

  • The standard reading (Marion, Pickstock, certain Anglophone Heideggerians) treats onto-theo-logy as a critique of theology's role within metaphysics, not as a structural-architectural claim. The corrective reading is contestable against this standard interpretation.
  • The Heidegger-corpus engagement is single-source. GA 11 is the cardinal text; no independent secondary source has been ingested that articulates the structural-constitutional reading explicitly.
  • The relation to claims#braig-quelle-of-onto-theo-logik (live) is supportive but not definitive. The Braig genealogy supports the structural-constitutional reading at the genealogical level; whether the lecture-text itself articulates the structural reading rather than a critique-reading depends on how one reads pp. 51-80.
  • The motifs.md entry's "structural-constitutional" framing may be a wiki-side reading. The Heidegger text itself uses Verfassung but does not explicitly contrast structural-constitutional with content-critical interpretations.
  • C2 refuter objection (rival-reading lens, consolidation 2026-07-26, wf_2de1ae1f-59d): Rival reading (conjunctive, not exclusive): GA 11 p. {89} states that the Verfassung-insight exists in order to answer a theological question, and culminates in a content-claim about the God of philosophy — so the claim's exclusive negation ("not a doctrinal-content claim about theology") is contradicted by the local context of its own cited anchor. Targeted raw check (General Rule 18) of raw/datalab-output-IDENTITAT-UND-DIFFERENZ-corrected.md lines 1397–1405, i.e. the page-{89} region named in claims#onto-theo-logische-verfassung-as-structural-constitution Evidence bullet 2: "Der Einblick in die onto-theologische Verfassung der Metaphysik zeigt einen möglichen Weg, die Frage: Wie kommt der Gott in die Philosophie? aus dem Wesen der Metaphysik zu beantworten" (line 1401) — the structural insight is explicitly subordinated to the God-question — followed by "Dies ist die Ursache als die Causa sui. So lautet der sachgerechte Name für den Gott in der Philosophie. Zu diesem Gott kann der Mensch weder beten, noch kann er ihm opfern" (line 1403) and "das gott-lose Denken ... ist freier für ihn, als es die Onto-Theo-Logik wahrhaben möchte" (line 1405) — an evaluative claim levelled against onto-theo-logy's own self-understanding. The wiki's own extraction note registers this as a distinct argument (#13) of the same lecture-text, quote-anchored at {89} (wiki/sources/.extraction-heidegger-ga11-identitat-und-differenz.md lines 230, 288, 290), and wiki/concepts/onto-theo-logik.md §"The Causa Sui and the Gott-loses Denken" carries it as substantive content. The rival therefore reads the lecture as one movement that is both: a structural-constitutional diagnosis whose stated purpose and culmination are a claim about theology's God. That rival explains all the same evidence at least as well and is stated on the page the claim cites; the entry's Counterpressure does not defeat it — bullet 1 merely records a differently-described rival and concedes contestability, and bullet 4 concedes the structural/content-critical contrast is absent from the text. As worded, the claim's "not X but Y" is not a corrective but a subtraction of an attested layer of the same passage. Second rival: the corrected "standard reading" is unattested in the corpus, so the corrective has no opponent it can be shown to beat. Counterpressure bullet 1 attributes the critique-of-theology reading to "Marion, Pickstock, certain Anglophone Heideggerians," but Pickstock occurs nowhere in the repo outside this entry, and Marion occurs in the corpus only in the idole/icône register (wiki/concepts/theologie-explicative.md lines 190–195, 217, 239–242; wiki/concepts/winnicott-transitional-object.md lines 197–200), never as a reader of GA 11 §1 — and Marion's Dieu sans l'être critique (God subsumed as causa sui/ground) is itself structural, i.e. plausibly on the claim's own side of the contrast. A corrective / philological claim whose target position is asserted from general knowledge rather than any ingested source cannot be tested against its rival at all (General Rules 16–17); the claim's own Payoff item (d) admits the opponent is prospective ("future Marion / Pickstock ingest"). Test 1's requirement that a claim be opposable without straw-manning fails in the inverse direction: the claim opposes a reading no corpus source is shown to hold. Supporting defect that keeps the rival unresolvable. Evidence bullet 2 cites 'Randbemerkung (89) "die Differenz als Austrag"' as explicitly identifying the Austrag with the structural-constitutional unity. That anchor appears to conflate GA 11 page {89} with a Randbemerkung index: the phrase "die Differenz als Austrag" stands in the body text at raw line 1322 carrying marker (110), the Randbemerkungen in the {89} region are (123)–(130), and the extraction note's Randbemerkung inventory contains no (89). What actually sits at p. {89} is the theological culmination above — i.e. the one anchor offered for the exclusively structural reading points to the passage that most strongly supports the conjunctive rival. Relatedly, Evidence bullet 4 cites wiki/motifs.md "line 441" (the §"Onto-theo-logische Verfassung" entry now stands at line 534) — a wiki-internal surface, so it cannot adjudicate between the two readings without circularity, as Counterpressure bullet 4 already concedes. (Adjacent, noted for the scope panel rather than relied on here: the Claim restates the pair as ontology = "inquiry into Being-as-such" vs. theology = "inquiry into Being-as-highest-being," whereas GA 11 {75}–{79} and the extraction note line 240 give Ontologie = das Seiende im Allgemeinen ergründen and Theologie = das Seiende im Ganzen from the Höchste begründen — both about Seiendes. The purely-structural reading is easier to sustain under the claim's paraphrase than under the text's.)

Payoff

If accepted: (a) the onto-theo-logik and onto-theo-logische-verfassung concept pages gain a claim-side anchor for the structural-constitutional reading; (b) the motifs.md HUB entry on Onto-theo-logische Verfassung gains a register-explicit claim; (c) the relation to the supported claims#ga11-austrag-as-wesensherkunft-of-onto-theo-logik claim becomes architectural rather than incidental; (d) future Marion / Pickstock ingest has a wiki-side claim to negotiate against.
