Claim
Nancy is, on Derrida's 2000 reading, "the greatest thinker about touching of all time . . . since Aristotle" (On Touching p. 4) — the post-haptocentric thinker whose signature operators (exscription, syncope, partage, se-toucher-toi, technē of bodies) constitute the wiki's resources for thinking touch outside the haptocentric tradition. And yet: Nancy's own most rigorous formulations (especially "Sense IS touching" from Une pensée finie / Corpus p. 40; the elaboration "The 'transcendental' of sense (or what is 'ontological' in it) is touch"; the title figure of Corpus) risk a haptico-transcendental reduction — reducing all sense to touch as the transcendental of sense, replaying the very haptocentric metaphysics of presence the "deconstruction of Christianity" is supposed to undo.
