The wiki's existing live claim claims#schelling-mp-asymmetric-bi-directionality (live, medium) identifies an asymmetric bi-directional structural-parallel pattern across three tokens: Schelling 1800 System of Transcendental Idealism (Real-Idealismus, per Gardner 2016), Schelling 1850 Quelle (Daß/Was, per Gardner 2018), and MP's chiasm (1960s V&I). The 2026-05-23 ingest of Schelling's 1809 *Freedom Essay* supplies a fourth token — the missing middle between the 1800 and 1850 Schelling tokens: the ground/existence distinction is itself asymmetric bi-directional. Ground depends on existence for being recognized as ground (revelation reveals the ground as having-been-ground); existence depends on ground for being personal (without internal condition, existence has no bond to bind). The two registers (order of being / order of personhood) are not collapsible into a single linear dependence. This is the same formal profile Gardner identifies in 1800 Real-Idealismus and 1850 Daß/Was.   • Gardner does not himself extend the analysis to 1809: the structural-parallel reading of the ground/existence distinction as a fourth token is the wiki's interpretive synthesis, not Gardner's. Whether the 1809 distinction genuinely instantiates the pattern (and is not merely structurally similar) requires more textual labor than this claim provides.
  • The "asymmetric bi-directional" formalization is Gardner's terminology — it may be that some of the formal pattern's apparent unity across Schelling's career is an effect of the formalization rather than a feature of the texts. Schelling himself does not use this vocabulary.
  • The 1809 essay's ground/existence distinction is asserted, not argued (editors' footnote 32 documents the back-reference to 1801): if the distinction is taken for granted in 1809 because it was already done in 1801, then the structural-parallel claim should perhaps run 1800/1801 + 1809 + 1850, not just 1800 + 1809 + 1850.
