Claim

The wiki's motifs.md corpus melody HUB ("melody / musical idea / Vinteuil / temporal Gestalt") tracks all three philosophical functions the melody figure performs in MP: (i) melody as form-of-the-whole not reducible to its notes; (ii) melody as the temporal Gestalt structure of behavior; (iii) Uexküll's formula — split in the raw by the said-clause: "Every organism," said Uexkull, "is a melody which sings itself" (raw 1528; the raw spells the name without umlaut). All three are operative in SB 1942 with HUB-weight attestations. SB Ch I raw 402–404 establishes the form-of-the-whole register (the piano-melody passage); Ch II raw 982–984, 1144 establishes the kinetic-melody-of-behavior register (cortical coordination as kinetic melody; learning as kinetic melody); Ch III raw 1528 explicitly cites Uexküll. SB is therefore the origin site of the corpus melody HUB, predating PoP by three years. The wiki's previous treatment had SB visible only via Décarie-Daigneault 2025's secondary citation; SB was not listed as a primary source in the melody HUB. This is a documented under-attribution corrected at this ingest.

Counterpressure / Limits

A skeptic could argue that the melody-attestation in SB 1942 is Buytendijk's first (raw 544 is a citation, not MP's own coinage) and Köhler's structural model second; MP is a user of the melody-figure in 1942, not its originator. The Uexküll formula (raw 1528) is also Uexküll's, not MP's. Therefore the 1942 attestation should not be credited to MP as "origin site." Reply: the corpus melody HUB tracks "melody as a philosophical figure" — what is MP-original is not the image (which is Buytendijk's, Köhler's, Uexküll's) but the philosophical work the image is made to do (form-of-the-whole; irreducibility of the temporal Gestalt; locus of integration that resists atomistic decomposition). This work is MP's, beginning in SB 1942. The claim is for the origin of MP's philosophical use, not the origin of the melody-figure as such; this is the standard sense in which the wiki tracks corpus motifs (e.g., the fire / ignition HUB tracks MP's philosophical use of Heraclitus, not Heraclitus's coinage).

Calibration evidence-chain findings (jury calibration 2026-07-28; repairs applied 2026-08-18): the blinded run's verifier and evidence-chain refuter found the Ch II raw 982–984 bullet quoting a re-ordered composite that handed the melody's predicate to the excitation-elements — the exact identification the anchor was deployed to prove (now re-quoted verbatim, and the extraction-note source of the defect corrected); the all-four-chunks corroboration bullet overstated coverage and weight (CHUNK-D records no melody attestation; CHUNK-A is STRUCTURAL at chunk weight); and the motifs.md pre-ingest-state leg was unverifiable against any committed artifact (struck). The multi-chunk independence (A/B/C) and the D-D/Beith cross-source legs stand.

Payoff

Corrects an under-attribution that materially affects the wiki's understanding of when MP's signature melody-as-temporal-Gestalt register enters his vocabulary. The melody HUB is one of the wiki's most-cross-referenced motifs; a three-year backshift of its origin site has consequences for the genealogy of interanimality, motor-intentionality, institution, fundamental-thought-in-art, and the wild-structure / wild-being cluster. Specifically: Morris 2024's reading of late MP's temporal structure-rotation (in wild-structure) becomes more strongly grounded if the temporal Gestalt is shown to be operative in SB 1942 alongside the spatial-redistribution physical-form vocabulary. The 2026-05-05 update to the corpus melody HUB documents SB as origin site; the kinetic-melody-of-behavior concept page consolidates the 1942 attestations.

The 3-test gate is met cleanly: (1) the claim is contestable (the Buytendijk-coinage objection is real and recorded); (2) all evidence anchors are traceable to extraction-note passages and verified raw-source locations; (3) counterpressure is recorded. Promotion to live rather than candidate reflects that the documentary evidence is unambiguous and the "MP's philosophical use" framing is the standard wiki convention. Promotion to supported would require Phase 8 deliberation about whether the 5-test gate's "payoff beyond 'these pages are related'" criterion is fully met; deferred.
