Claim

Kee 2025 §3 closing and §4 argue that The Problem of Speech (PbP, 1953–54) is the inflection point in MP's trajectory: the source where MP abandons monograph treatments of language as such (the abandoned *Prose of the World* and the abandoned Origin of Truth projects) and turns to a late ontology in which language is reabsorbed into the larger problem of vertical / wild being — "the voice of no one… voice of the things, the waves, and the forests" (PbP 209). The "specificity of language" question collapses (no silver bullet); the "quasi-natural significations" theme opens; the *Nature* III lectures (1959–60) pursue it; V&I 178f. integrates language with the indirect method. The genealogical claim is therefore: PbP is the textual hinge between MP's pre-1953 language-monograph projects and the post-1953 late-ontology architecture that absorbs language into wild being.

Counterpressure / Limits

The "abandonment" framing is one reading. An alternative reading would treat PoW and Origin of Truth as postponed rather than abandoned — projects MP intended to return to but didn't have time for. Kaushik 2021 (matrixed ontology) reads MP's Valéry-language strand as continuous from PoW into V&I, suggesting the language-monograph register doesn't really collapse. If Kaushik's reading is right, "pivot" overstates the discontinuity.
PbP-as-pivot vs V&I-as-pivot. A rival genealogical reading places the pivot at V&I (1960–61), not PbP (1953–54). On the V&I-as-pivot reading, what happens at PbP is preparatory; the real turn happens with the V&I working notes' explicit indirect-ontology architecture. The PbP-as-pivot claim depends on weighting the language-as-such/language-within-wild-being shift more heavily than the late-ontology architectural shift.
The "voice of no one" passage from PbP 209 is single-mediated through Kee. Payoff

If supportable, the claim gives wild-being a specific genealogical anchor — the moment language is reabsorbed into vertical being — and gives indirect-ontology a methodological-genealogical placement (the late ontology emerges through the language-pivot, not after it). It also re-positions PoW: not as MP's failed language monograph but as the pre-pivot moment whose abandonment is itself diagnostic.
