Claim

Per Taddio 2025 §1, MP's science secrète in Eye and Mind (single attestation, §I/§II hinge) refers to perception, more specifically Gestalt psychology — i.e., to the conditions of phenomenal givenness that Gestalt experimental phenomenology has formalized as figure-ground, principles of unification, conditions of transparency, amodal completion, and depth cues.
