Claim

MP's 1936 review of Marcel's Being and Having contains MP's earliest printed statement of two theses central to the late ontology: (i) "the Cogito is far from being the first principle"; (ii) "I and [my body] form a common cause, and in a sense I am my body." These statements predate Phenomenology of Perception (1945) by 9 years and V&I (1959–61) by 24 years.
