Weave Pass 3 — cross-tradition follow-up to audit v1.9 (2026-06-23)
Run: cross-tradition weave run · branch claude/cross-tradition-weave-2026-06-23 (cut off audit HEAD; audit v1.9 not yet merged to master).
Trigger: the audit v1.9 Phase-8 cousin-disposition table (synthetic-layer-2026-06-23.md §cousin-disposition) flagged 4 relation-only cross-tradition cousins for retire-and-relocate; this run executes that, plus the iso-scan of the cross-tradition HUB pairs, plus 2 new-pair scans flagged for future weave (motifs-delta §3.3).
Method: 8 read-only structural-isomorphism-scanner invocations (opus 1M, max effort) via Workflow wf_15eb8350-d58, returning structured verdicts; orchestrator (main thread) assembled this report and is the sole writer/committer. Dry-run — nothing applied yet; the §12f hand-apply + the 4 retirements HALT for maintainer confirmation (see §8).
Apply path: all 6 cross-tradition cousins returned Latent-Adjacent, so the apply is the §12e carve-out (Open-Questions + *has cross-tradition cousin* typed connections + motifs.md BRIDGE entries — no claims.md candidate emission) via the §12f maintainer hand-apply path (≤3 cards/batch; the 3 RELATION-ONLY cards fit exactly). No Iso-threshold calibration is required for the Latent-Adjacent-restricted path; no formal sign-off run is required.

Tally: 6 Latent-Adjacent · 1 Partial · 1 Disanalogous. Zero Isomorphic, zero new claims.md candidates — the expected outcome for a cross-tradition run (cross-tradition pairs route to Latent-Adjacent by the v0d.9 signature; the corpus's established low-Iso-yield regime, per weave-calibration-2026-05-16, holds). The 6 Latent-Adjacent verdicts independently confirm the audit's Phase-1 cross-tradition reader and the Phase-8 disposition table.
§2 — Per-pair scan results (condensed; full reasoning in the run output)
Each scanner read both concept pages + cited extraction notes, articulated the rejection-substitute-grounding triple per page, compared on axes (i)/(ii)/(iii), and ran the veto check. Condensed below to the decisive axis + the Latent-Adjacent five-condition signature; the drafted Open-Questions cautions (verbatim, apply-ready) are carried in the bridge cards (§4) and §B/§7.
Scan 1 — anamnesis ↔ institution — LATENT-ADJACENT. Axes (i)+(ii) aligned: both reject acquisition-as-fresh-production and substitute recovery/reactivation of latent un-self-constituted meaning (slave-boy "finds the knowledge within himself"; instituted sense "regained without total recreation"). Axis (iii) not aligned (decisive): atemporal/closed/complete Forms-via-immortal-individual-soul vs historical/intersubjective/open institution-in-time-that-opens-a-future — no shared third register. Signature: all 5 conditions hold; (5) n/a (no auto-identification). Veto: would-duplicate anamnesis-stiftung-cross-tradition-cousins (mooted by Latent-Adjacent emitting no candidate).
Scan 2 — writing-and-living ↔ pharmakon — LATENT-ADJACENT (inversion sub-type). Axis (i) partial (same living/written-deposit distinction, opposite evaluative direction — the inversion signature); axis (ii) aligned (both position "life" relative to the written sign); axis (iii) not aligned: incarnate institution (Bildung/Stiftung) vs transcendent recollection (Forms/anamnesis). Signature: (1)–(4) hold, (5) n/a (no auto-identification — MP nowhere names Plato; reconstructed antipode). A signed (inversion-kind) cross-tradition cousin.
Scan 3 — allegory-of-the-cave ↔ aletheia — LATENT-ADJACENT (attributive/inverting). Axis (i) partial, axis (ii) aligned (both replace an externally-additive picture — knowledge poured into the soul / concealment-as-added-shadow — with a constitutive-internal reorientation: periagōgē / Lethe-als-Herz); axis (iii) not aligned: Platonic two-world metaphysics + paideia-politics vs Heideggerian Es-Geben/Seinsgeschichte/Lichtung. Two load-bearing caveats: (a) the link is attributive — it exists only on Heidegger's own reading ("Platons Lehre von der Wahrheit"), under which the Cave is the genealogical site where unconcealment is subordinated to correctness (the cousin-as-origin/target, not a co-mover); (b) the aletheia page records Heidegger's 1964 self-retraction (GA 14 pp. 87–88) of the Wesenswandel thesis the Cave-reading leans on — so the "Cave as fall-of-truth" gloss is contested by its own author and must not be asserted flatly.
Scan 4 — khora ↔ flesh-as-element — LATENT-ADJACENT. Axes (i)+(ii) aligned (both reject a primitive bipartition and substitute a characterless, obliquely-accessed founding third "midway between the individual and the idea"); axis (iii) not aligned: necessitarian-cosmogonic-theological grounding (Necessity / errant cause / demiurge / bastard reasoning, non-sensible) vs perceptual-carnal-historical grounding (reversibility / facticity / sedimentation, sensible). The two occupy the "third" slot for opposite reasons. Derrida's resists-analogy caution is honored, not overridden — Latent-Adjacent asserts a registral divergence (cousinhood-with-split), consonant with Derrida's thesis that the khôra founds the very oppositions an analogy deploys. Both pages already carry the correct relation (flesh-as-element has cross-tradition cousin khora, l.418; khora contrasts with flesh). Claim khora-third-kind-mp-third-domain stays candidate (CONTESTABLE-THESIS). Feeds §B#1 (the khôra↔matrixed-ontology over-strong retype).
Scan 5 — non-being ↔ bestimmte-negation — LATENT-ADJACENT. Axis (i) aligned (both reject the abstract Nothing; negation must bear intelligibility); axis (ii) partial (same substitute-family, divergent mechanism — heteron is "determinate negation minus its engine": no Aufhebung, no negation-of-the-negation, 257b denies contrariety); axis (iii) not aligned: static koinōnia tōn genōn grounding the sayability of the false vs self-negating-contradiction-as-engine grounding dialectical self-movement. No auto-identification (Hegel distances himself, charging the Parmenides — not the Sophist — with "stopping at the negative"). Claim sophist-not-being-as-difference-vs-determinate-negation stays candidate (carries a corrective thesis beyond the relation).
Scan 6 — peras-apeiron ↔ changement-quantite-qualite — LATENT-ADJACENT. Axes (i)+(ii) aligned (both reject a degree-continuum that admits only of "more"; both substitute quantity-becomes-quality at a determination-point); axis (iii) not aligned: ethics-as-applied-ontology + cosmic aitia (limit-from-above, static, no nodal leap) vs philosophy-of-history + institutional causation (degeneration-without-rupture). Auto-identification is naming-level only (the MP page invokes Hegel's Umschlagen but imports the name into a political-historical apparatus, not the immanent self-movement; the page's own Open Question concedes the source is contested). Claim peras-apeiron-hegel-masz stays candidate; routed to Phase-8.6 merge-check vs collection-and-division↔bestimmte-negation.
Scan 7 — mimesis ↔ simulacrum — PARTIAL (genealogical inversion). Axis (i) not aligned (decisive): the simulacrum's rejection-target IS mimesis's substitute (the graded model→copy→phantasma fidelity hierarchy) — one constructs what the other overturns. Fails Latent-Adjacent condition (1). The genuine relation is inverts/genealogy (Deleuze's "overturning of Platonism"), already encoded on both pages (inverts/subordinates/contrasts with) and already captured by [[claims#simulacrum-as-being-not-copy]] (candidate) + [[claims#circulus-vitiosus-two-receptions]] (candidate). No new claim (would duplicate). Record-only — §7.
Scan 8 — mimesis ↔ umdrehung-des-platonismus — DISANALOGOUS (false-friend). Axes (i)+(ii) both inverted: mimesis installs the two-world model/copy hierarchy; the Umdrehung/Herausdrehung abolishes it. The seductive "both refuse a naive copy/swap" reading is the false friend (mimesis's non-duplication preserves the model-copy gap; the Herausdrehung dissolves it). Relation is critiques/is targeted by, already on both pages. No claim homes both. Record-only so future weave runs do not re-test — §7.

§4 — Bridge cards (Status: proposed — §12f hand-apply candidates)
All three are Bridge type: latent-adjacent, restricted to the §12e carve-out (Open-Questions writes + *has cross-tradition cousin* typed connections + motifs.md BRIDGE entries; no claims.md candidate emission). The §12f per-card gate trace is in §5.

Bridge type: latent-adjacent

Secondary homes: institution, sedimentation

Relation:
- anamnesis → institution / sedimentation — has cross-tradition cousin (already present on

- anamnesis → institution / sedimentation — has cross-tradition cousin (already present on

Evidence status: extraction-note anchored (Plato side) + source-page/motif anchored (MP side).
-
What it makes visible: the Meno problem as the shared problem-space both traditions inhabit — MP's anti-empiricist account of learning read as a temporalization of a structure Plato first posed and answered atemporally; invisible from either the Plato pages or the institution pages alone.
-
Counterpressure: grounding diverges totally (atemporal/closed/complete deposit via immortal individual soul vs historical/intersubjective/open institution-in-time); a skeptic may hold "cousin" overstates a shared problem into a shared answer. The finer, more defensible micro-parallel (aitias logismos "tying down" ↔ sedimentation-as-stabilization) is not yet passage-anchored on the MP side.
- counter-test: pair the MP Institution and Passivity reactivation passages against Meno 97e–98a at the passage level; if no structural parallel survives there, downgrade the relation to contrasts with.

Open-Questions caution (verbatim): Latent-Adjacent cross-tradition cousin of institution / sedimentation on the Meno-problem axis (weave Pass 3, 2026-06-23 / v0d.9): axes (i)+(ii) align across the tradition boundary — both reject acquisition-as-fresh-production and substitute recovery/reactivation of latent, un-self-constituted meaning — but axis (iii) grounding diverges registrally: Plato's latency is of eternal, atemporal, closed Forms recovered via an immortal individual soul (recovery re-presents a finished past), whereas Stiftung/institution is historical, intersubjective, open — meaning founded in time and reactivated within a tradition, opening a future. The grounding-register split is constitutive of the parallel, not a weakness of it; it licenses the typed
*has cross-tradition cousin*connection, not aclaims.mdthesis. The finer, more defensible micro-parallel remains aitias logismos ("tying down," Meno 97e–98a) ↔ sedimentation-as-stabilization. Seewiki/.audit/weave-pass3-2026-06-23.md.
Bridge Card 2 of 3: writing-living-pharmakon-cross-tradition-cousin
-
Status: proposed
-
Bridge type: latent-adjacent
-
Confidence: low
-
Primary home: writing-and-living
-
Secondary homes: pharmakon, sedimentation
-
Relation:
- writing-and-living → pharmakon — has cross-tradition cousin (inversion sub-type: same living/written-deposit distinction, opposite evaluation; "inversion" kept in the bullet prose)
-
Evidence anchors: plato-phaedrus 274e–276a (Theuth–Thamus; the "orphaned" written word; living speech "written in the soul") [extraction-note
.extraction-plato-phaedrus.md]; merleau-ponty-2026-literary-use-language L8 [87]/[89] (quadruple-negation; writing as Bildung) + sedimentation (reactivatable deposit). -
Evidence status: extraction-note anchored (Plato side) + source-page anchored (MP side).
-
What it makes visible: the Phaedrus as the classical pole of a three-way constellation (Plato's hierarchy / Derrida's deconstruction / MP's inversion); MP relocates the "life" Plato reserves for speech-in-the-soul into the written/sedimented deposit.
-
Counterpressure: "inversion" may overclaim — MP nowhere cites Plato (the writing-and-living page does not name the Phaedrus), so the relation may be a reconstructed antipode reached independently, not a deliberate overturning; Derrida's pharmakon-undecidability further destabilizes a clean inversion (the Phaedrus may already deconstruct its own hierarchy).
- counter-test: check MP's 1953 literature course for any direct engagement with the Phaedrus/Plato; if none, the relation stays a reconstructed cousinhood (not MP's own overturning) and must not be glossed as intentional inversion.

There is no auto-identification — MP nowhere names Plato — so the inversion is a* reconstructed antipode, not MP's own overturning of a text he engages; Derrida's Plato's Pharmacy further complicates a clean inversion. Bridge Card 3 of 3: cave-aletheia-cross-tradition-cousin
-
Status: proposed
-
Bridge type: latent-adjacent
-
Confidence: low
-
Primary home: allegory-of-the-cave
-
Secondary homes: aletheia, form-of-the-good
-
Relation:
- allegory-of-the-cave → aletheia — has cross-tradition cousin (attributive/inverting: on Heidegger's reading the Cave is the genealogical site where unconcealment is subordinated to correctness; carries the 1964-retraction caveat in prose)
-
Evidence anchors: plato-republic 514a–518d (Cave + periagōgē), 508e (the Good "gives truth"), 515d ("sees more correctly") [extraction-note
.extraction-plato-republic.md]; aletheia §"The 1964 Self-Correction" (GA 14 pp. 86–88) — Heidegger's Platons Lehre von der Wahrheit + his Wesenswandel retraction. -
Evidence status: extraction-note anchored (Plato side) + source-page anchored (Heidegger side, via the
aletheiapage). -
What it makes visible: why the Cave (not the Line or Sun) is the recurrent target of the "Plato begins metaphysics" thesis — the image where looking-correctly (orthotēs) displaces coming-out-of-hiddenness (alētheia).
-
Counterpressure: the connection is attributive — it exists only on Heidegger's reading, not as a neutral reading of Plato; and the
aletheiapage records Heidegger's own 1964 self-retraction of the Wesenswandel thesis (no essential change of truth from Greek unconcealment to Roman adaequatio; alētheia als solche "never thought as such"). So the "Cave as fall-of-truth" gloss is contested by its own author and must not be asserted flatly. The textual hooks (515d, 508e) may show correctness added alongside unconcealment, not subordinating it.- counter-test: read 515d/508e/518d against the late-Heidegger 1964 position; if the orthotēs-subordination requires the retracted Wesenswandel thesis, the relation must stay descriptive (no "fall of truth" assertion in any page's own voice).

Open-Questions caution (verbatim): Latent-Adjacent cross-tradition cousin of aletheia (weave Pass 3, 2026-06-23 / v0d.9), attributive/inverting: axes (i)+(ii) align in family/form across the Plato↔Heidegger boundary — both replace an externally-additive picture (knowledge poured into the soul; concealment as shadow added to light) with a constitutive-internal reorientation (periagōgē; Lethe als das Herz) — but axis (iii) grounding diverges registrally (Platonic two-world metaphysics + paideia-politics vs Heideggerian Es-Geben / Seinsgeschichte / Lichtung). Two caveats are load-bearing: (a) the link is attributive — it holds only on Heidegger's own reading ("Platons Lehre von der Wahrheit"), under which the Cave is the cousin-as-origin/target where unconcealment is subordinated to correctness, not a structural co-mover; (b) the aletheia page records Heidegger's 1964 self-retraction of the Wesenswandel thesis (GA 14 pp. 87–88), so the "Cave as fall-of-truth" gloss is contested by its own author and must not be asserted in any page's own voice. §B — Register-over-strong typed-connection retypes (from coherence §B; not bridge cards)
Two existing typed connections assert *shares mechanism with* where the cited claim only supports a cousin-under-suspicion. These are typed-connection corrections (not relation-only-cousin relocations), handled as direct edits:
khora→matrixed-ontology(khora.mdl.49;plato-timaeus.mdl.111):*shares mechanism with*crosses the tradition boundary (Plato→MP/Kaushik reception) on aspeculative-confidence, Derrida-quarantined claim — the single most over-strong link in the cohort, and internally inconsistent onkhora.md(flesh gets*contrasts with*, matrixed-ontology gets the stronger verb). Scan 4 confirms khôra's cross-tradition relations are cousinhood-under-registral-divergence, not shared mechanism. → Retype to*has cross-tradition cousin*(§12e-authorized; cross-tradition Latent-Adjacent). Claimkhora-third-kind-mp-third-domainstays candidate; keep its(candidate)ref.peras-apeiron→khora(peras-apeiron.mdl.48;plato-philebus.mdl.115):*shares mechanism with*for an intra-Plato same-author pair is registrally permissible but stronger than theperas-apeiron-khora-cousinscandidate warrants (its own counterpressure invokes Derrida "a fortiori"). §7 — New-pair findings (record-only; no write required)
mimesis↔simulacrum— PARTIAL (genealogical inversion). Not a cross-tradition cousin: the simulacrum's rejection-target is mimesis's substitute (the fidelity hierarchy), so axis (i) is inverted, not aligned — fails Latent-Adjacent condition (1). The genuine relation (inverts / Deleuze's "overturning of Platonism") is already encoded on both pages and already captured by[[claims#simulacrum-as-being-not-copy]](candidate) +[[claims#circulus-vitiosus-two-receptions]](candidate). No new claim, no new typed connection. (Optional, deferred: a one-line## Open Questionsnote onmimesiscross-linking the inversion — left to a future reciprocity pass; not applied here to keep the run minimal.)mimesis↔umdrehung-des-platonismus— DISANALOGOUS (false-friend). Both axes (i)+(ii) inverted (mimesis installs the two-world hierarchy; the Umdrehung abolishes it). The relation (critiques / is targeted by) is already on both pages (allegory-of-the-cave/mimesis↔umdrehung). Recorded here so future weave runs do not re-test this pair as a latent isomorphism. No write.
Also deferred (no Plato-side page): flux/heracliteanism ↔ durée (Bergson) — motifs-delta §1 #9 held flux at THEME with no standalone Plato concept page (heracliteanism/flux-doctrine/being-becoming are all missing). The scan would return Indeterminate. Deferred until a Plato flux/heracliteanism page exists.
§8 — Retire-and-relocate queue — HALT for maintainer confirmation
Per the v1.9 Phase-8 disposition + bridge-card-signoff §12e (a Latent-Adjacent cross-tradition cousin relation is below claim-grade by design), the 4 RELATION-ONLY cousins are retired from claims.md and their relations relocated to typed connections + motifs.md BRIDGE entries. Retirement HALTS for user confirmation (retirement ≠ deletion; entries preserved with reasoning, no Supersedes: since the successor is a typed connection, not a claim).

Card 1 → has cross-tradition cousin (anamnesis↔institution/sedimentation) + BRIDGE + Open-Q caution | retired |
| 2 | mp-writing-and-living-inverts-phaedrus (candidate) |
Card 2 → has cross-tradition cousin (writing-and-living↔pharmakon) + BRIDGE + Open-Q caution | retired |
| 3 | peras-apeiron-khora-cousins (candidate) |

Card 3 → has cross-tradition cousin (cave↔aletheia) + BRIDGE + Open-Q caution (1964-retraction caveat) | retired |
The 3 CONTESTABLE-THESIS cousins stay candidate, untouched (sophist-not-being-as-difference-vs-determinate-negation, khora-third-kind-mp-third-domain, peras-apeiron-hegel-masz) — each carries a thesis beyond the bare relation. (khora-third-kind gets only the §B#1 typed-connection retype; peras-apeiron-hegel-masz remains routed to the Phase-8.6 merge-check.)
§9 — Apply plan & routing (post-confirmation)
On maintainer confirmation of the §8 retirements:
- §12f hand-apply Cards 1–3 — the Apply-as items in §4 (Open-Q cautions, typed-connection canonicalizations, reciprocals). Add
<!-- bridge-card: <slug> -->+ frontmatterbridge_cards: [<slug>]to each destination page; onebridge-cards-applied.mdrow per card (Sign-off run: hand-apply, maintainer-adjudicated (§12f)+ pointer to this report's §5 gate trace). - §B retypes — khora↔matrixed-ontology (→ cross-tradition cousin) + peras-apeiron↔khora (→ contrasts with).
- Retire the 4 claims in
claims.md(Status: retired + Status-History reasoning); update concept-page(candidate)claim-refs → (retired). - Provenance/build:
