title: "Phase 8 Eighth Run — Step 8.9 Cite-back Sub-Report, 2026-05-05" type: audit-report date: 2026-05-05 phase: 8 (Step 8.9 portion)
Phase 8 Eighth Run — Step 8.9 Cite-back — 2026-05-05
Run summary
This sub-report records Agent Ecb's discharge of the Step 8.9 cite-back portion of the Full Audit v1.5 Phase 8 eighth run on 2026-05-05. Inputs walked: wiki/.audit/phase-7-initial-2026-05-05.md rows 23–41 (cite-back table); wiki/.audit/synthetic-layer-2026-05-05-eighth-run-gamma.md (Agent Eγ's just-landed γ-implementation report); wiki/.audit/synthetic-layer-2026-05-05.md lines 185–198 (seventh-run deferred cite-back queue); wiki/claims.md (post-Eγ state); CLAUDE.md §Synthetic Claims convention; AUDIT_PLAN.md v1.5 (refactor to backticked-text precedent).
Scope: 17 cite-back items on non-δ-affected pages — the seventh-run deferred queue minus rows 26 (chiasm) and 28 (indirect-ontology) which Eγ folded into the γ-implementation scope. Items 23–25 are H&T-related cite-backs (Bukharin live + AD source page live + candidate); item 27 is the Sartre-rupture political-articulation live cite-back at wild-being; item 29 is wild-structure with the seventh-run reactivates rather than corrects SB-1942 reframing folded in; items 30–33 are four DD 2024 candidate cite-backs (transtemporality / passence / double-sided-artifact / encounter-deleuze); items 34, 36, 41 are convergence-thesis / Sartre-rupture candidate cite-backs; item 35 is the Beauvoir entity stub creation; items 37–40 are four broken-slug refactors per the 2026-05-04 lint precedent.
All 17 items applied without halt. One new file created (wiki/entities/simone-de-beauvoir.md). 16 existing files modified. No wiki/claims.md modifications (Eγ already discharged claims-register work for this run). No δ-affected concept-page modifications (Eγ finalized those). All updated: frontmatter fields on touched pages bumped to 2026-05-05.

Notes
Promote-vs-refactor judgment for items 37–40
All four broken-slug references defaulted to refactor per the 2026-05-04 lint precedent and the AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 instruction. Justification per item:
- Item 37 (
gestural-expression-bridges-php-to-prose-of-world): would require sustained PhP / Sorbonne / PoW cross-textual evidence anchoring (the Sorbonne lectures 1951–52 four-mode typology + PhP 1945 expression treatment + PoW 1951–52 indirect-language drafts) before the 3-test gate could be met. This is the kind of work proper to a future ingest cycle on PoW or to a targeted Phase 8 cross-source candidate-creation pass. Refactor. - Item 38 (
mp-1950-mirror-stage-welsh-anchor-for-specular-image): would require systematic Welsh-vs-Cobb cross-edition tracking across multiple MP mirror-stage references; the existing page-level corrections (specular-image, adultomorphism, transitivism, syncretic-sociability) prefigure but do not aggregate. Promotion would benefit from a dedicated cross-edition audit pass not yet performed. Refactor. - Item 39 (
third-year-crisis-prefigures-chiasm-failure-of-identification): the Welsh lectures themselves do not use chiasm vocabulary; the structural parallel between the Sorbonne 1950–51 third-year crisis and V&I's "imminent and never realized" chiasm requires sustained cross-period evidence work to anchor the genealogical move. Refactor. - Item 40 (
welsh-verdier-vs-cobb-wild-philological-variation): the philological observation is well-supported per page (the Welsh edition supplies materially distinct text from Cobb), but a register-level claim about wild philological variation (the slug name suggests a thesis about systematic Welsh-vs-Cobb divergence beyond individual passage corrections) would require the same cross-edition aggregation work Item 38's slug name implies. The two broken slugs appear to point toward the same potential future claim. Refactor.
The four broken-slug refactors document what would have been candidate-claim work without committing to evidence anchoring this run cannot perform.
Items with updated: already at 2026-05-05
Eight pages had updated: 2026-05-05 from prior runs (item 27 wild-being from earlier eighth-run work; items 29–33 from creation date 2026-05-05; item 41 from item 18 Lead-mechanical slug-fix). Per CLAUDE.md General Rule 3, the additive cite-back updates are substantive; per the existing date stamp the field is already correct. No further bump applied.
Beauvoir stub raw-absence framing
Per AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 instruction, the simone-de-beauvoir.md stub explicitly acknowledges raw absence: Le deuxième sexe (1949) and Pour une morale de l'ambiguïté (1947) are not in raw/. The Open Questions section names this as the gating issue for promoting claims#mp-beauvoir-1949-convergence-on-gender (candidate) to live. The stub's confidence: medium (high enough to anchor the claim and the structural-context information, low enough to track the absent comparator gate).
No claims.md modifications
Per AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 instruction, all claims-register work for this run is Eγ's responsibility. Ecb made zero modifications to wiki/claims.md. The 17 cite-back items are additive page-side framings of claims Eγ already created or restatused.
No δ-affected page modifications
Per AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 instruction and Eγ's just-landed report, the eight δ-affected concept pages (science-secrete, coherent-deformation, chiasm, stiftung, indirect-ontology, fundamental-thought-in-art, institution, ineinander) are out of Ecb's scope. Eγ folded the additive cite-backs on chiasm (row 26) and indirect-ontology (row 28) into the γ-implementation. Ecb made zero modifications to any of the eight.
Verbatim block (items 1–10)
-
Scope read: Phase 8 eighth run Step 8.9 cite-back portion — 17 items on non-δ-affected pages drawn from the Phase 7 initial pass rows 23–41 (skipping rows 26 + 28 already discharged by Eγ's γ-implementation).

-
Raw sources inspected: none (cite-back work operates on existing wiki artifacts and Eγ's discharged γ-decision; no targeted raw-source check required for any cite-back item).
-
Claims affected: zero (claims.md unchanged this run; Eγ already discharged all claims-register modifications). Pages affected: 17 — 16 existing pages modified (additive cite-back framing or broken-slug refactor) + 1 new entity page created (simone-de-beauvoir).
-
Findings ranked:
- HIGH (cite-back): items 23, 24 (Bukharin live citation visible at the wiki homes the live claim names) and item 35 (Beauvoir entity stub creation; closes a dangling wikilink and anchors the claims#mp-beauvoir-1949-convergence-on-gender candidate). These three items close the most visible structural gaps from the seventh-run deferred queue.
- HIGH (architectural-cite-back): items 27 + 29 land the H&T 1947 → late-ontology political-articulation live citation at wild-being and the SB-1942 reactivates-rather-than-corrects reframing at wild-structure — both of which make the post-γ claim register legible across the political-and-ontological-and-physics dimensions of MP's late corpus.
- MEDIUM (DD-2024 candidate cluster): items 30–33 land four interlocking DD 2024 candidate citations (transtemporality / passence / double-sided-artifact / encounter-deleuze). The cluster is structurally cross-linked — each page cites the others' candidate slugs — making the DD 2024 conceptual architecture legible from any entry point.
- MEDIUM (refactor): items 37–40 discharge four broken-slug references via the 2026-05-04 lint precedent. Refactor is conservative; future runs may revisit any of the four if evidence anchoring becomes available (the slug names indicate the kind of cross-source evidence work that would be required).
- MEDIUM (genealogical-cite-back): items 25 + 36 + 41 land the convergence-thesis and Sartre-rupture candidate citations at lateral-universal, sartre, and convergence-thesis-mp — anchoring the 1949–52 → 1953 → 1956–60 methodological-genealogical chain and the 1947 → 1955 Sartre-rupture chain.
-
Evidence anchors per finding: each cite-back framing introduced this run cites the controlling claim slug explicitly. Live-claim citations carry provisional framing per CLAUDE.md ("live claim, see..."); candidate-claim citations carry candidate framing ("candidate claim, see..."); contested and supported framings were not applicable to any of the 17 items (no item required them). Anchors trace to existing claims.md entries (verified pre-run) for all 13 cite-back items; the four broken-slug refactors document what would have been candidate-creation work without committing to evidence anchoring this run cannot perform.
-
Recommended action (forward):
- Beauvoir ingest is the single most consequential follow-up: ingesting Le deuxième sexe (1949) would discharge the claims#mp-beauvoir-1949-convergence-on-gender candidate's evidence-chain gap and substantively populate the simone-de-beauvoir stub (currently confidence: medium, blocked by raw absence).
- The four broken-slug refactors (items 37–40) are durable backlog. Future runs may consider candidate creation if the relevant evidence anchoring becomes available: PoW ingest for item 37; cross-edition Welsh-vs-Cobb audit for items 38 + 40; cross-period CPP-to-V&I structural audit for item 39.
- The DD 2024 candidate cluster (items 30–33) is at present anchored on a single source (Décarie-Daigneault 2024 + the IP 1954–55 lectures). Cross-source corroboration would tighten promotion paths; Toadvine 2024 The Memory of the World and Larison 2020 are the most likely corroborators.
- No supported promotions were considered this run for any non-δ-affected claim; Phase 7 initial pass surfaced zero non-δ supported-eligible candidates.
-
Cross-references to other sub-agents' work:
- Preserved Eγ's just-landed γ-implementation work intact: the eight δ-affected concept pages received zero Ecb modifications; the chiasm row 26 and indirect-ontology row 28 additive cite-backs are Eγ's responsibility (already applied). No Ecb modifications to claims.md (Eγ scope).
- Preserved Lead-helper's mechanical edits intact: item 18 (
convergence-thesis-mp.mdslug correction) underlies item 41 (cite-back complement); item 14, 15 (interanimality, motor-intentionality SB-1942 supported framing) and items 16, 17 (fundamental-thought-in-art, institution; both δ-affected) are out of Ecb's cite-back scope per the AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 division of labor; items 19, 20 (realist-thought, adultomorphism slug corrections) are not affected by Ecb's scope. - Step 8.5 work remains in Agent E85's scope (per the Phase 7 initial pass division: Agent E85 picks up the seven first-wave optional-section upgrades on cleared HIGH-priority pages —
[[systeme-d-equivalences]],[[indirect-language]],[[hyper-dialectic]],[[hyper-reflection]],[[flesh-as-element]],[[wild-being]],[[sedimentation]]). Ecb's edit to wild-being (item 27, additive Synthetic Claims bullet) is non-interfering with E85's planned optional-section upgrade per the AUDIT_PLAN v1.5 instruction.
-
Confidence/status before → after for each affected page/claim:
- 17 pages touched: confidence ratings unchanged on all 17. The Beauvoir stub (item 35) is created at confidence: medium (the rating reflects high confidence in MP-side citations, low confidence in Beauvoir-side content given raw absence).
- 0 claim-entry modifications (claims.md untouched).
- All
updated:fields bumped to 2026-05-05 where not already there from prior runs. - Synthetic Claims section convention applied uniformly:
## Synthetic ClaimsH2 heading, italicized provisional / supported / candidate framing prefix per CLAUDE.md, single-paragraph bullet describing the claim's relevance to the page.
-
Final state of Step 8.9 cite-back portion: complete. All 17 items applied. Eγ's γ-implementation work preserved intact. Lead-helper's mechanical work preserved intact. No supported promotions surfaced; no halt conditions triggered. The 13 successful cite-back items + 4 broken-slug refactors + 1 entity stub creation = 17 + 1 = 18 page-touches (the 17 items count includes the simone-de-beauvoir page creation as item 35; one additional page touch is required to discharge that item). All cite-back framings are post-γ-decision-aligned: no Ecb-introduced text invokes the contested H_synth four-element-synthesis framing or the retired joint-operation grammar; cite-back framings on δ-claim-cross-referencing pages would have been Eγ's scope and were so handled.
