Run summary

This is the fifth Phase 8 run since the v0c migration introduced wiki/claims.md (Pass 4 of the v0c migration was the first run on 2026-04-27). Prior runs: 2026-04-27 (first; 10 entries), 2026-04-28 (second; 5 new), 2026-04-29 (third; 4 new BRIDGE-derived live + 2 candidate→live), 2026-04-29 fourth (4 new live + 4 new candidate from 5 ingests). Today's run takes user pre-authorization for supported promotions per R8 — the first run to do so.

User pre-authorization received: "I pre-authorize any promotions to supported." This satisfies R8 in interactive mode without halt.

Operational mode: Claude Code session with user-supplied authorization for the supported gate; otherwise standard subsequent-run protocol.

Trigger: Three new ingests since the fourth run (Heidegger Nietzsche I+II 2026-04-30 / 2026-05-01; End of Philosophy 2026-05-01; texts-and-dialogues 2026-04-30; Inédits I 2026-05-04; Inédits II 2026-05-04; Chouraqui 2025 Healing Schneider 2026-05-04). The two Inédits ingests in particular discharge the evidence chains for several pre-existing candidates Chouraqui 2025 had cited.

The candidate count is dominated by today's 12 candidates created on 2026-05-04 from the Inédits I + II + Chouraqui 2025 ingests (some of which then promoted to live in this Phase 8 run). The 9 new candidates added in this run come from texts-and-dialogues (4), Heidegger Nietzsche II (3), and Heidegger End of Philosophy (2).

Walk order followed

Per AUDIT_PLAN Phase 8 Step 8.2, walked in priority order:

  1. Extraction-note Diagnostics and Recurring Motifs — surveyed the post-2026-04-29 extraction notes (Inédits I + II, Chouraqui 2025, Heidegger Nietzsche I + II, End of Philosophy, texts-and-dialogues, MP 1992 Texts and Dialogues).
  2. Source-page "What's Not Obvious" — the 2026-05-04 ingests have created the relevant source pages.
  3. wiki/motifs.md — verified the 2026-05-01 update reflects the corpus state; no new BRIDGE motifs surfaced this run.
  4. Prior audit reports in wiki/.audit/ — reviewed the four prior synthetic-layer reports for any deferred candidates not yet in claims.md.
  5. User-memory thesis nominations — none applicable to this run beyond what is already in claims.md.
  6. Seed claim candidates — five Pass 3 Part D candidates from the new Heidegger ingests + four from texts-and-dialogues; seed list closed by harvesting.

Triage applied (Step 8.3)

  • De-duplication. No duplicates surfaced; the 9 new candidates are all distinct from existing register entries.
  • False-friend caution. No new false-friend cautions added this run (the existing list at the bottom of claims.md is preserved).
  • Artifact conservatism (Rule 18). Two targeted raw-source verifications performed:
    • For circulus-vitiosus-deus-mp-ontology-of-ontology supported promotion: confirmed via Heidegger Nietzsche I extraction note that Heidegger reads BGE 56 as "the third communication of the recurrence-doctrine," not as MP reads it for indirect ontology — establishing the coordinate-but-distinct reading needed for criterion 5.
    • For coherent-deformation-universal-operative-form supported promotion: re-confirmed the seven attestation sites (IL raw 820, 874, 1050, 1076, 1178 + PoP raw 597, 2332) are textually robust independent of (δ) reformulation framing.

The R8 user pre-authorization is recorded in this report's Run summary. Each promotion below documents the criterion-5 reasoning (confidence survives restatement against strongest counter-position):

  1. ingested-corpus-four-element-gap (live → supported, confidence stays medium)

    • Strongest counter: Saint Aubert 2006 (not in raw/) might occupy the four-element synthesis.
    • Why criterion 5 holds: the claim is explicitly scoped to the ingested corpus; the broader claim is disclaimed. The strongest counter is consistent with the claim as stated.
    • Payoff (criterion 4): positive specification of the wiki's interpretive contribution (the four-element synthesis is the wiki's own architectural composition).

  2. valery-mauvaises-pensees-attribution (live → supported, confidence stays medium)

    • Strongest counter: the Degas Danse Dessin attribution dominant in MP-secondary-literature.
    • Why criterion 5 holds: both sub-theses (attribution proper + chronological priority) are now anchored — Mauvaises pensées attribution at raw 23403, chronological priority via Malraux 1953 ingest. The residual under-determination of the "dit Valéry" target is a refinement question, not a defeater.
    • Payoff (criterion 4): dual-anchor restructuring of the genealogy of déformation cohérente (Valérian somatic register 1932/1942 + Malrauxian stylistic register 1951, unified in Signs 1960).

  3. circulus-vitiosus-deus-mp-ontology-of-ontology (live → supported, confidence stays medium)

    • Previously-blocking gap: Heidegger-mediation question; Nietzsche lectures not in raw/ at fourth-run time.
    • Why discharged now: Heidegger Nietzsche I (2026-04-30) and Nietzsche II (2026-05-01) ingests in raw/. Heidegger reads BGE 56 in the Vollendung-narrative, not as MP reads it for indirect ontology. The two readings are coordinate but distinct, confirming MP's distinct appropriation.
    • Why criterion 5 holds: Heidegger-mediation hypothesis is empirically tested against the actual Heidegger texts and found to license a coordinate-distinct reading rather than a defeating one.
    • Payoff (criterion 4): architectural status for circulus-vitiosus-deus as HUB-level concept page; parallel to claims#science-secrete-stiftung-chiasm (the figure of the form the joint operation must take if self-aware).

  4. malraux-schema-precedes-mp-coherent-deformation-philological-refinement (live → supported, confidence stays medium)

    • Strongest counter: the French Part III (La Création esthétique p. 152) contains the conjoined phrase déformation cohérente, so MP simply translates Malraux.
    • Why criterion 5 holds: the negative finding (zero hits in English Voices) is empirically verified by Bash search; the strongest counter does not defeat the philological observation about the English text. Even granting Malraux's French priority, the English-side fact is empirically secure.
    • Payoff (criterion 4): MP's Signs citation legible as a translation-bridge that anglophone readers depend on; the citation does philosophical work anglophone readers without French access could not do for themselves.

  5. coherent-deformation-universal-operative-form (live → supported, confidence stays medium)

    • Strongest counter: coherent deformation is painterly-specific.
    • Why criterion 5 holds: empirically defeated by the "too" and "never otherwise" clauses in IL raw 1050 ("The meaning of a novel too is perceptible at first only as a coherent deformation imposed on the visible. And it will never be otherwise."). Seven attestation sites across IL and PoP, in three usage registers (painting, novel, language), make the universality finding robust.
    • Payoff (criterion 4): repositions coherent-deformation as MP's three-tier expressive architectonic; supplies the specifying move for refining claims#science-secrete-stiftung-chiasm's painter-side framing.

Promotions to live (8; 3-test gate)

  1. agnosia-as-mp-ethical-counter-ideal — Inédits I + II ingests discharge the Vol. 1 + Vol. 2 attestation requirement Chouraqui 2025 cited.
  2. mp-play-as-higher-seriousness-not-cynicism — Inédits II ingest discharges the Vol. 2 Note 1191 (Sartre) and p. 520 (Hegel) attestations.

  • The 5 supported + 8 live promotions already constitute a substantial register update.
  • Per Step 8.5's note, "coverage cycles across runs until coverage is even"; the next Phase 8 run is the natural site for concept-page upgrades to HUB / thesis-central pages now that several claims have stabilized at supported status.

Step 8.8 — Post-Phase-8 confidence addendum

Per CLAUDE.md and AUDIT_PLAN, after Phase 8 completes I should re-pass any concept page or claim entry whose confidence may have changed because of synthetic-layer assembly.

For this run:

  • All 5 supported promotions kept confidence: medium (none promoted to high). The promotion to supported tightens the gate criterion-5 standard; it does not by itself warrant a confidence-rating bump because each documented "promotion to high" pathway requires further work (additional ingests, third-party scholar engagement) that this run has not done.
  • The 8 candidate→live promotions kept their existing confidence ratings (mostly medium).
  • The 9 new candidates were rated at creation-time per their evidence base.
  • No concept-page confidence values were changed as a consequence of the claims.md updates this run, because no concept-page edits were made. The next Phase 8 run, if it proceeds with Step 8.5 upgrades, will be the natural site for confidence-recalibration of HUB pages whose claim-anchors moved to supported.

The Phase 7 confidence addendum is therefore minimal for this run; the substantive Phase 7 work cycles to the next run that does Step 8.5.

Step 8.9 — Cite-back

Cite-back updates to concept pages whose Wiki homes lists are affected by this run's promotions are deferred to the next run, paired with Step 8.5 upgrades. The conservative approach: defer cite-backs until concept-page text is being touched anyway (next run), rather than make many small touches across the wiki this run.   • The 9 new candidates from this run will accumulate evidence over time; promotion to live for any of them depends on the specific gap each names (see Status History entries for required next steps).
  • The pre-authorization model (user authorizing supported promotions in advance) worked well for this run; future runs may want to consider pre-authorization on a per-run basis when a substantial corpus expansion has clearly readied multiple claims for supported status.
