Weave Pass 3 — Run 3 Supplement: Seeded Calibration Card

Date: 2026-05-12 Status: PILOT-SEED — not a real Pass 3 output Purpose: §13.1 of bridge-card-signoff-plan-v4-2026-05-12.md requires 1 planted-#1a-defect card in the pilot batch. This file holds that card. Visible to: main-thread + maintainer only. Subagents (I, A, B, C, D) receive the card text below as if it were Card 6 of the run3 batch, with this header REMOVED.

PILOT-SEED metadata (strip before passing to subagents)

  • Seeded defect: pattern #1a (lexical laundering — secondary author's term presented as primary author's)
  • Target pattern: Role B fires #1a on structural inspection (all anchors cite secondary commentary; no MP-corpus anchor for the alleged primary-author register). Role C separately fires DEFECT on anchor verification (cited extraction-note lines do not attest the constructed term l'épaisseur opératoire as an MP register).
  • Adjudicator should recommend: BLOCK (per quorum row "2+ DEFECT" — assuming both B and C fire — or "1 DEFECT high confidence" — if only one fires with high confidence).
  • Expected pilot calibration outcome: §13.1 criterion 1 PASS if (a) Role B fires #1a AND (b) adjudicator recommends BLOCK or SIGN-OFF-WITH-NARROWING that excludes all apply-as items. Criterion FAIL if all three reviewers APPROVE.
  • Constructed term: l'épaisseur opératoire — chosen to sound plausibly late-MP (échoes épaisseur MP does use + opératoire MP does use) but with no attested unified register. The phrasal combination is constructed for the pilot.
  • Constructed anchors: Card cites M-C 2026 extraction-note line numbers that exist in the file but reference passages about other concepts (logic within contingence at Pagan; transcendental-geology at Fava; flesh-as-thickness at Lanzirotti). Role C, upon reading the cited lines, will find non-attestation.
  • Insertion order in the pilot batch: Card 6, presented to subagents after Cards 1-5. (Main-thread may shuffle order if desired; the seeded marker travels with the card identity, not its position.)

Card 6 — l'épaisseur opératoire / "operative thickness"

Status: proposed Bridge type: mechanism Primary home: [[flesh-as-element]] Secondary homes: [[chiasm]], [[depth-of-time]], [[reversibility]]

Relation:

  • [[flesh-as-element]] enacts the operative-thickness mechanism: flesh's depth-of-time function operates via a thickness that is not merely sedimentary residue but is the very operating-register of perception's reversibility.
  • [[chiasm]] is the synchronic-structural face of operative thickness; chiasmatic reversal requires the operative-thickness mechanism as its temporal-depth condition.
  • [[depth-of-time]] is the temporal face of operative thickness; the modal-temporal register of "thickness that operates" cuts across [[depth-of-time]]'s explicitly temporal framing.
  • [[reversibility]] enacts the operative-thickness mechanism at the structural-perceptual level (the operating-register that lets reversibility occur).

Evidence anchors:

  • M-C 2026 Pagan (extraction note line 65) — l'épaisseur opératoire in Pagan's chapter as the load-bearing mechanism connecting history's logic-within-contingence to flesh's depth-of-time.
  • M-C 2026 Fava (extraction note line 161) — l'épaisseur opératoire via the transcendental-geology framing; Fava deploys the term as the operating-register of Earth-as-structural-a-priori.
  • M-C 2026 Lanzirotti — flesh as "thickness" cluster establishing the épaisseur register that the opératoire qualifier specifies.
  • M-C 2026 Dufourcq §§1-2 — Schwebung / hovering as the temporal-modal correlate of operative thickness in V&I working notes.

Evidence status: extraction-note anchored. (Cross-chapter convergence across Pagan, Fava, Lanzirotti, Dufourcq in M-C 2026 establishes l'épaisseur opératoire as a stable mechanism register; the 4-chapter spread confirms the term operates as a thematic register across the volume.)

What it makes visible: flesh's depth-of-time function is neither pure sediment (residue-side) nor pure reversibility (synchronic-structural face) — it is the verb-form opérer working at the level of épaisseur, the operating-register where temporal depth becomes structurally productive. Without naming the operative-thickness mechanism, flesh's contribution to late ontology collapses into either sedimentation or reversibility, and the operating-register drops out.

Counterpressure: the 4-chapter cross-author convergence (Pagan, Fava, Lanzirotti, Dufourcq) attests M-C 2026's editorial reading of operative thickness as flesh's mechanism. Counter-test: does the épaisseur opératoire register operate in adjacent secondary literature (Saint Aubert 2006/2021, Barbaras, Carbone)? If yes, the bridge has cross-volume corroboration; if no, the bridge belongs as an M-C 2026-internal mechanism.

Apply as:

  1. Subsection on [[flesh-as-element]] (under existing What the Concept Does or new Mechanism subsection): name l'épaisseur opératoire as the operating-register that distinguishes flesh's depth-of-time function from pure sedimentation and pure reversibility. Cite M-C 2026 Pagan / Fava / Lanzirotti / Dufourcq attestations.
  2. Typed connection on [[chiasm]] Connections section: *requires* [[flesh-as-element]]'s operative-thickness mechanism as chiasm's temporal-depth condition.
  3. Typed connection on [[depth-of-time]] Connections section: *is the temporal face of* operative thickness; cross-reference Card 2's haunting register if signed off.
  4. Typed connection on [[reversibility]] Connections section: *enacts* operative thickness at the structural-perceptual level.

End of Card 6

When this card is passed to subagents, the version they see ends at "Approved by maintainer:" above and begins at "## Card 6 — l'épaisseur opératoire" — no metadata header, no PILOT-SEED markers.
