Weave 2026-05-16 — Handoff for Next Session

Audience: future-Claude or future-user (you) resuming this work in a later session. Status at handoff: weave run-2 complete in DRY-RUN; commit 70d0edf weave: 2026-05-16 run-2 calibration + Passes 1-5 DRY-RUN. Zero wiki content writes — all proposals preserved in audit reports for selective hand-application.

TL;DR

  1. Calibration FAILED literal acceptance (1/3 Goods Iso vs ≥2/3 threshold; one short). User authorized DRY-RUN for Passes 1-5 as the disciplined response.
  2. All 5 passes ran successfully in dry-run, producing 2 Iso candidate claims, 3 stub drafts, 10 back-reference drafts, 2 BLOCKED bridge cards, 1 false-friend caution — all sitting in audit reports waiting for your hand-application decision.
  3. The big-ticket finding is the surprise Iso on figuratifs ↔ matrixed-ontology (Saint Aubert / Kaushik convergence on MP's own matrix vocabulary, neither author citing the other) — see decision item #2 below.

Decision items surfaced (in priority order)

Decision item 1 (highest payoff): hand-copy the 2 Iso candidate claims to claims.md

Both are substantively useful synthetic findings, fully drafted with evidence + counterpressure + payoff sections. Both at Status: candidate, Confidence: speculative — the disciplined initial status.

(a) transtemporality-ineinander-as-register-pair-extensions-of-institution — claim entry body at weave-pass3-2026-05-16.md Section A. Slots alphabetically between topology-from-piaget-not-heidegger-not-lacan and two-registers-of-vi in claims.md. Payoff: reveals MP's late corpus contains a register-pair architecture under institution (transtemporality = temporal-architectural register; ineinander = ontological-topological register); explains why both pages independently arrive at chiasm as a third term.

(b) saintaubert-kaushik-matrix-register-convergence — claim entry body at weave-pass3-2026-05-16.md Scan B.2 section. Slots alphabetically between sb-1942-kinetic-melody-origin and schelling-mp-asymmetric-bi-directionality in claims.md. Payoff: identifies the matrix-register (MP's own EM3 + V&I working-note vocabulary) as a shared structural backbone of two distinct contemporary readings (Saint Aubert's figuratifs + Kaushik's matrixed ontology) that each existing claim only half-addresses.

For each: also add a row to claims.md Summary table (template strings provided in Pass 3 report); add [[claims#<slug>]] references on the wiki home pages' Synthetic Claims sections per the existing convention.

Don't forget: bump wiki/index.md Claims count + Summary section; run .venv/bin/python scripts/refresh_baselines.py --apply before commit (per General Rule 19).

Decision item 2 (medium-priority housekeeping): apply Pass 4 back-reference sections

10 drafts ready at weave-survey-2026-05-16.md Pass 4 section, each with target page named and template prefilled. Target pages (in priority order — HIGH first):

  1. dehiscence (HIGH) — also fix motifs.md staleness gap by adding [[dehiscence]] to §"déhiscence" Wiki homes field
  2. pente-de-l-histoire (HIGH)
  3. logique-de-fait (HIGH)
  4. wild-being (HIGH)
  5. schneider-case (HIGH)
  6. soil-ground-sol (HIGH)
  7. matrixed-ontology (HIGH)
  8. shadow-philosophy (MEDIUM)
  9. intercorporeity (MEDIUM)
  10. retrograde-movement-of-the-true (MEDIUM)

For each: insert the drafted section after ## Connections, before ## Open Questions. Bump updated: to 2026-05-16 in frontmatter (substantive cross-reference addition, NOT metadata-only backfill per General Rule 3 exception).

7 more candidates deferred to next weave run: no-mans-land-1949, changement-quantite-qualite, individu-de-classe, antithetic-critique-of-sartre, condemned-to-meaning, constituting-vs-instituting-subject, revolution-as-another-stiftung, hinge.

Decision item 3: apply Pass 2 stub drafts (or defer to next ingest)

3 stub drafts ready at weave-survey-2026-05-16.md Pass 2 section. Per the SKILL, "Full development comes from a future ingest, not from weave" — these stubs are deliberately minimal grip points for future Pass 3 scans.

  1. mythical-time — STRONGEST candidate (HUB-tier, 6 sources, 4 rival readings). Stub explicitly distinguishes vertical/depth (mythical time) from horizontal/cross-temporal (transtemporality) registers. Worth applying.
  2. third-domain — STRUCTURAL but argumentatively load-bearing. Currently distributed across 5+ pages; consolidation is overdue.
  3. enveloping-enveloped — STRUCTURAL self-flagged in motifs.md for consolidation. Lower priority.

For each: copy stub body to wiki/concepts/<slug>.md; update wiki/motifs.md Wiki homes field; bump wiki/index.md Concepts count + Summary section; bump wiki/overview.md. Run baselines before commit.

Decision item 4: bridge-card BLOCK outcomes (defer or revise)

Both bridge cards (aletheia-dehiscence-cross-tradition-self-differentiation + nascent-state-coexistence-silent-key-pair) BLOCKED at sign-off (1 APPROVED + 2 DEFECT each). Revise-and-resubmit was declined per cohort-level finding that both need substantive reframing, not 1-line edits.

Three paths:

(a) Defer — leave cards at Status: proposed in Pass 3 report; let them age out / wait for a future weave to re-emit them with different framing. Lowest-effort path; current default.

(b) Revise Card 1 — address Role B's #19 saturation-bridge defect by (i) flipping Primary home to [[aletheia]] so the bridge "answers to" aletheia.md's standing false-friend caution rather than "extending past" it, AND (ii) engaging the Heidegger-MP cross-tradition secondary literature (Lawlor on dehiscence-as-différance; Dastur on Lichtung and clairière; Madison's La phénoménologie de Merleau-Ponty 1981). Then re-submit to a fresh A/B/C round via bridge-card-signoff skill.

(c) Reclassify Card 2 outside the bridge-card form — Role B's #1b scaffolding-promotion + #7 bridge-type conflation diagnosis suggests the "PhP silent-key cluster" finding belongs in claims.md (as a meta-finding claim) or motifs.md (as a STRUCTURAL motif) rather than as a typed connection on concept pages. Counter-test from card: "is there a 3rd PhP silent-key in the cluster?" — a brief audit of the 2026-04-25 silent-key scan would settle this.

Decision item 5: consider v0d.9 SKILL extension with Latent-Adjacent verdict

Cross-tradition pairs like aletheia ↔ dehiscence hit a recurring pattern: axis-(ii) substitute form aligned (genuine structural cousinhood), axis-(iii) grounding registrally divergent (Heidegger's Seinsgeschichte vs MP's flesh-as-element). The scanner correctly returns Partial under the strict triple test, but the structural relation is real — it just isn't full isomorphism.

A new Latent-Adjacent verdict between Partial and Isomorphic could capture this pattern, with its own apply-mode authorization scoping:

  • Could authorize concept-page-level cross-references (typed connections, false-friend cautions promoted to subsections) but NOT claims.md candidate emission
  • Would match the lower confidence appropriate to registrally-divergent Iso-like-substitutes
  • Would let the wiki capture genuine cross-tradition convergences that the strict Iso threshold currently filters out

This is a schema-changelog amendment (v0d.8 → v0d.9), not a same-session adjudication. Worth designing thoughtfully if the pattern recurs in future weave runs.

Quick-win immediate actions (if you have 20 minutes)

If you just want to clean up the easy stuff without doing the full claim-promotion + concept-page surgery:

  1. Add [[dehiscence]] to wiki/motifs.md §"déhiscence / opening to nature and history" Wiki homes field (currently lists only [[chiasm]] and [[ambiguity-vs-ambivalence]]; dehiscence.md exists). Pure housekeeping, no judgment calls.
  2. Add [[hinge]] to wiki/motifs.md §"hinge / charnière / pivot / jointure / gond" Wiki homes field (currently lists only [[chiasm]] §, [[institution]], [[motor-intentionality]], [[empietement]]; hinge.md exists). Pure housekeeping.
  3. Run lint (python3 scripts/lint-mechanical.py or via your skill invocation) to see what else has drifted. The weave run added 4 hypothesis-pre conformance lint findings (now baseline-pinned at 22) — these are EXPECTED and represent the new bridge-card-signoff/run-2/ files. No action needed unless conformance check itself surfaces a real defect in the hypothesis-pre files (it didn't this run; baseline-pinned per General Rule 19 auto-bump).

What NOT to redo

  • Don't re-run the calibration today unless the corpus has shifted significantly. Today's calibration (both runs) is preserved at weave-calibration-2026-05-16.md (run 1) and weave-calibration-run2-2026-05-16.md (run 2). If you re-run on the same corpus state, you'll get the same verdicts (Borderlines proved exact-reproducibility) and waste subagent budget.
  • Don't re-run Pass 1 without a substantive reason. The survey is current as of the commit; the only invalidation would be a new ingest that adds a HUB motif or a manual motifs.md weight upgrade.
  • Don't re-emit the 2 candidate claims via another Pass 3 scan — they're already drafted. Hand-copy from weave-pass3-2026-05-16.md Sections A and B.2.
  • Don't try to apply the BLOCKED bridge cards via apply-mode — both gates are open (sign-off BLOCK + bridge-card-specific calibration NOT authorized). The cards need substantive revision (Decision item 4) before re-submission, not application.

When calibration freshness expires

Per the SKILL "Modes: dry-run vs apply" same-session discipline: a future weave session needs a fresh calibration if the corpus has shifted since 2026-05-16. Shift triggers include:

  • Any new ingest (sources, extraction notes)
  • Any audit run with claim promotions, motif upgrades, or stub creations
  • Any lint run with substantive fixes (new wikilinks, new typed connections, new claim references)
  • Any schema bump that affects typed-connection vocabulary, claim status gates, or motif weight classes

If the corpus is unchanged, you can re-use today's calibration findings without re-running scanners. Just cite weave-calibration-run2-2026-05-16.md as the freshness anchor.

If the corpus has shifted, run a new calibration with the same 6-criterion latency screening for Goods + harder-architectural-mismatch Bads. Today's test set is recorded in weave-calibration-run2-2026-05-16.md §"Test-set rationale" — you can re-use the design discipline without re-using the exact pairs (some may no longer be latent after corpus shift).

Files to read first if resuming this work

In order:

  1. This file — orientation.
  2. wiki/.audit/weave-calibration-run2-2026-05-16.md — calibration outcome + 3 resume paths (you authorized path 1 = dry-run; paths 2 and 3 still available for a future session).
  3. wiki/.audit/weave-survey-2026-05-16.md — Pass 1 connection-graph + Pass 2 stubs + Pass 4 back-references + Pass 5 close summary. The single most useful file for understanding the corpus state and what work was drafted.
  4. wiki/.audit/weave-pass3-2026-05-16.md — the 2 Iso candidate claim drafts (Sections A and B.2) ready for hand-copy.
  5. wiki/.audit/bridge-card-signoff/run-2/adjudication.md — sign-off ratification + the cohort-level finding (Relation line over-assertion vs Apply-as scope pattern) that should inform future Pass 3 drafting.

Subagent budget reflection (for cost-aware future runs)

This run used 16 Opus subagents total:

  • 9 calibration scanners (single fan-out, fast)
  • 2 fresh Pass 3 production scans (single fan-out, fast)
  • 5 bridge-card-signoff (interpretation-checker [sequential] + 3 reviewers [fan-out] + adjudicator [sequential])

Cost-effective patterns observed:

  • Fan-out works well for read-only judgment tasks (calibration + production scans were efficient).
  • The bridge-card sign-off is heavyweight for the value it produces (6 hypothesis-pre + 6 reports + 1 interpretation-map + 1 dependency-map + 1 adjudication recommendations + 1 cohort fingerprint + 1 ratification = 16 files for 2 cards that both BLOCK). For future runs, consider whether sign-off in dry-run mode (where no apply-mode writes are gated) is worth the overhead — the BLOCKs caught genuine defects, but the substantive insight (cohort-level over-assertion pattern) might have been visible from the reviewers' reports without the full adjudication infrastructure.
  • Cross-secondary-author pairing (Scan B.2 figuratifs ↔ matrixed-ontology = Saint Aubert vs Kaushik) yielded the highest-value Iso of the run. Future Pass 3 runs should prioritize this pairing strategy when the corpus has 2+ secondary readers of the same primary-text problematic.
