Synthetic-Layer Assembly — Audit Phase 8, 17th run (2026-06-01)

Run type: subsequent full-audit Phase 8 (R7 subsequent-run mode). Trigger: six ingests landed since the 16th run (closed 2026-05-24) — Derrida The Beast and the Sovereign I (2001) & II (2002), Derrida On Touching—Jean-Luc Nancy (2000), Nancy The Fragile Skin of the World (2021), Mounier Personalism (1950), Gadamer Truth and Method (1960). Gadamer's note is the corpus's largest extraction note (267 KB); the two B&S volumes and On Touching are also major-volume ingests. Both the "substantial corpus expansion" and "major-volume single ingest" triggers fire. Operational mode: Claude Code, with user pre-authorization "phase 8 with promotions pre-authorized" and explicit authorization to use subagents (Opus 4.8, max effort). Register state: 219 → 225 entries (22 supported / 110→115 live / 85→86 candidate / 1 contested / 1 retired). Page totals unchanged at 736 (no new pages created this run).

Pre-authorization scope and the supported HALT

The user pre-authorized "promotions." This run produced zero supported promotions, so the durable Claude-Code-mode supported HALT (CLAUDE.md §Claim Status Gates) was not engaged. Every live claim touched this run has a supported-deferral condition that requires a third source not yet in the corpus (e.g. an Agamben The Open ingest for the Heidegger-animal cluster; a Husserl Ideas II ingest for mp-chair-departs-husserl; a cross-tradition audit for haptocentric-tradition). The pre-authorization therefore covered only candidate→live promotions (which it did, including single-source live promotions that would otherwise halt under the §Pre-Authorization Defaults "single-source live promotions halt" rule — here released by the explicit pre-authorization, though in practice all five promoted are multi-source or multi-anchor).

Key structural finding: the harvest was already in claims.md

Unlike a normal Phase 8 (harvest extraction-note Part D → create entries), the Derrida and Mounier ingests had already written their Pass-3 Part D candidates directly into claims.md at ingest time (13 entries dated 2026-05-27/28; two already at live). All referenced concept pages already existed (the ingests created walten, haptocentrism, hermeneutics, survivance, robinson-crusoe, etc.). So this run's work was:

  1. Gate-walk the existing ingest-time candidates against the gates, promoting those whose stated deferral conditions the new corpus state now meets;
  2. Harvest + create the only candidates not yet written — the 3 Nancy and 3 Gadamer Part-D candidates;
  3. Reconcile the index navigational claims-summary (which the BS-II / On-Touching ingests had not updated), and fix citation-label drift the reviewers surfaced.

Independent review (subagents)

Three read-only reviewers were dispatched in parallel (the audit skill's claim-promotion-reviewer for two pairs; a general-purpose agent for a General-Rule-18 source check):

  • Reviewer A (Heidegger-animal pair): both PROMOTE-TO-LIVE; flagged Pass-2a argument-number drift.
  • Reviewer B (On-Touching / MP-Husserl pair): both PROMOTE-TO-LIVE; completed the cross-claim audit (the stated deferral condition for mp-chair-departs-husserl) → COMPLEMENTS, no competition.
  • Reviewer C (GR18 check on walten-exceeds): GA11 corroborates the Walten der Differenz / Austrag reading verbatim in raw (GA11 lines 1231, 1389) → deferral condition met.

The maintainer verified the reviewers' label-correction recommendations before applying — and caught one over-correction (Reviewer A proposed re-attributing the Sein und Zeit triad-gap to BS-II; the maintainer's grep confirmed it is genuinely a BS-I item, S11 pp. 279–280, BS-I note line 239, and kept the BS-I attribution).

  • nancy-allonomy-as-the-late-master-diagnosis (interpretive) — the West's auto- is structurally allonomy. (Held at candidate: Nancy never names "allonomy" as a concept; Derrida-derived.)
  • nancy-vanishing-ontology-as-late-resolution-of-il-y-a (philological) — "vanishing ontology" as the late operative name for Nancy's il y a. (Held: the phrase is a hapax.)
  • post-husserlian-horizont-triangle (structural-parallel) — Husserl's Horizont transformed along MP's and Gadamer's independent axes. Capped at candidate by construction: must pass the weave Pass-3 rejection-substitute-grounding triple test before becoming a typed connection or live claim (the Abschattungen-direction false-friend caution is decisive). Routed to the next weave Pass 3.
  • gadamer-betti-dispute-genre-not-technique (interpretive) — the dispute is about genre (quaestio facti vs. iuris), not technique. (Held: mostly source-internal.)

bete-untranslatable-from-french-to-french, no-common-world-only-islands, nancy-haptico-transcendental-reduction, touching-the-untouchable-structural-condition, mounier-engagement-priority-pre-sartrean, personalism-as-third-position-against-individualism-and-collectivism — all remain candidate. These are mostly single-primary-source and/or deliberately bold interpretive claims whose extraction-note authors set specific second-source deferral conditions (Ronell for bête; Celan/late-MP for no-common-world; Maritain/Berdyaev for third-position; etc.) that the corpus does not yet meet. sovereignty-as-untenable-autoposition and mounier-mp-converging-on-conditioned-freedom-against-sartre stay at live (their supported-deferral needs a third source — Foucault/Agamben/Schmitt; Beauvoir/Ricoeur — not yet present).

Citation-hygiene fixes (General Rule 16)

The reviewers surfaced Pass-2a argument-number drift in the ingest-time entries (every cited session/page exists; only internal index numbers slipped). Verified against the extraction notes and corrected:

  • heideggerian-anti-humanism: Evidence #1 #22 → #39; Evidence #2 Sein und Zeit-gap relabelled to the BS-I Connections locus (S11 pp. 279–280) + BS-II arg #33 cross-attestation.
  • heidegger-animal-doctrine: #10 → #15; #22 → #39; I&D leg re-anchored from a mislabelled "#31" (which is the Lévinas argument) to the Key-Passages locus.
  • walten-exceeds: I&D leg re-anchored from "#31" to Key Passages.

General-Rule-18 checks (targeted raw verification)

  • walten-exceeds / GA11: the two load-bearing Heidegger sentences are present verbatim in raw GA11 — line 1231 ("Im Austrag waltet Lichtung des sich verhüllend Verschließenden…") and line 1389 ("Die onto-theologische Verfassung der Metaphysik entstammt dem Walten der Differenz…"). Sources line updated to add [[heidegger-ga11-identitat-und-differenz]]; the corrective "ultra-sovereign" interpretation remains BS-II's (recorded in Counterpressure).
  • mp-chair-departs-husserl / V&I 57n10: verified verbatim in raw (visible_invisible_hybrid_inline_folios_v2.md line 819, note 10: "As Bergson said in Les Deux Sources: my body extends unto the stars"). The mondialisation charge's MP-side anchor is traceable to raw, not only to Derrida's secondary report. Discharged.

False-friend cautions (Step 8.3)

  • Added: Gadamer's negative use of Stiftung (artwork's exemption from instituting acts) on concepts/institution.md Open Questions — a contrastive inversion of the Husserl/MP positive institution; cross-linked to post-husserlian-horizont-triangle as the same Gadamer-vs-MP divergent-axis pattern.
  • Already present (added at the Nancy ingest, not duplicated): Nancy's hyoid-dehiscence vs. MP's dehiscence cross-tradition-cousin caution on concepts/dehiscence.md (§"Nancy's Hyoid-Dehiscence Register").
  • Mounier's engagement vs. MP's engagement-through-disengagement is carried by the existing mounier-engagement-priority-pre-sartrean candidate rather than as a separate caution.

Step 8.9 — cite-back

Candidate→live framing updated on the wiki-home pages of the 5 promoted claims (delegated to a focused subagent; only the 5 now-live slugs were re-framed; still-candidate refs on the same pages left untouched). Phase 8.6 — retirement / downgrade queue

scripts/claim_retirement_queue.py --apply → wiki/.audit/claim-retirement-queue-2026-06-01.md, 0 rows. No stale-keep/review, downgrade, retire, or merge flags. (The newly-promoted entries are fresh; the register has no entries past the 90-day staleness window with broken anchors.)

Step 8.8 — post-Phase-8 confidence addendum (Phase 7 tie-in)

No confidence values changed. All five promotions are status changes (candidate→live) at medium; all six new entries are medium. walten-exceeds gained GA11 corroboration but stays medium because the corrective "ultra-sovereign" thesis remains single-source (BS-II). The Heidegger-animal pair is 2-source but single-mediating-source (Derrida), so it stays medium/live. No medium→high bumps warranted.

Deferred / flagged for follow-up

  1. Step 8.5 optional concept-page upgrades (What the Concept Does / What It Rejects / Stakes / Problem-Space) for the new HUB pages created at these ingests (sovereignty, walten, haptocentrism, hermeneutics, survivance) — deferred to a scoped follow-up sweep, consistent with prior runs (9th, 13th). These pages were created ingest-ready; the upgrade is lower-priority than the claim-gate work done here.
  2. Index navigational claims-summary residual drift. The index ## Claims summary trailed claims.md by 29 rows pre-run (a pre-existing ingest-time omission, not lint-gated — lint counts entries from claims.md directly). This run appended the 13 recent-cohort rows (the 6 ingests' claims + this run's 6 new + 4 promoted) non-alphabetically with a re-sort flag; a residual ~16 older rows remain missing. Flagged for a dedicated lint re-sync + re-sort pass. The authoritative register (claims.md) is fully consistent (H2 count = summary-row count = 225; zero duplicate slugs).
  3. post-husserlian-horizont-triangle is queued for the next weave Pass 3 structural-isomorphism triple test (Isomorphic / Latent-Adjacent / Disanalogous), which will determine whether it licenses a *has cross-tradition cousin* typed connection between the MP and Gadamer horizon-concepts.
