Run framing

Trigger. User invocation: "do a /audit 8.5 + 8.9 follow-up sweep". Discharges the Step 8.5 (silent-key + Phase 4 deferred concept-page upgrades) and Step 8.9 (cite-back for the 9 newly-promoted claim entries) work that the fourteenth-run Phase 8 (synthetic-layer-2026-05-16.md) explicitly deferred per its "Notes for next audit / next scoped follow-up" §1.

Operational mode. Claude Code mode, user-pre-authorized for autonomous progress ("the user has asked you to work without stopping for clarifying questions"). Maximum Opus-subagent parallelism applied: 6 parallel general-purpose (Opus) subagents dispatched in a single wave.

Audit-cycle position. Scoped follow-up of audit 14 — not a new audit. No new claim candidates harvested; no claim-status changes. The fourteenth-run Phase 8 already promoted 9 candidates (1 → supported, 8 → live) and updated claims.md Status fields + Summary table; this sweep applies the page-side and Status-History-side consequences.

Work decomposition

The fourteenth-run Phase 8 report queued five discrete items for this sweep (per its §"Notes for next audit / next scoped follow-up"):

  1. Step 8.5 silent-key follow-up — 2 stubs + 4 subsections + 3 typed-connection upgrades (per wiki/.audit/silent-keys-2026-05-16.md).
  2. Phase 4 deferred items — 2 cross-reference updates (wild-being + schneider-case) per wiki/.audit/major-volume-integration-2026-05-16.md.

Step 8.5 — Phase 7 addendum re-evaluation

The fourteenth-run Phase 7 addendum (phase-7-addendum-2026-05-16.md) flagged two pages as candidates for medium → high confidence upgrade conditional on Step 8.5 work landing:

[[politics-mp]] — HOLD AT MEDIUM

The new "General Milieu" subsection (~12 lines) adds one attestation locus to a thematically-broad concept page that covers MP's Marxism, contingency-of-the-future, principal-condition, pente de l'histoire, U.S.S.R.-diagnosis, and HT/AdV-trajectory material. The page's evidence base is wide but the new subsection is one more datapoint among many, not a structural strengthening. CLAUDE.md's high standard ("directly supported by multiple sources; page claims are well-evidenced") is a page-level judgment; single subsection additions do not tip it on their own. Re-eval after a second strengthening pass (e.g., if the SnS "principal-condition" page's deepening or the AdV-1955 integration produces a second tighter anchor); HOLD AT MEDIUM now.

[[pensee-de-survol]] — HOLD AT MEDIUM

The new SnS earliest-published-locus citation pushes the page's chronological anchor back from PoP-1945 to SnS-1946 (Metaphysical in Man p. 121-126), and adds the Bergson-target datapoint (raw 1103). This is genealogical depth, not breadth — strengthens the page's claim to track an MP-stable concept across the corpus, but does not transform the page into "well-evidenced across multiple sources" in the strong sense high requires. The page remains medium-substantial. HOLD AT MEDIUM.

Aggregate verdict: 0 confidence-frontmatter changes applied in this follow-up sweep. Both Phase 7 addendum candidates remain at medium pending further strengthening work.

Memory-note failure modes — observed in this sweep

User-memory project_phase8_citeback_procedure.md flagged four cite-back failure modes. This sweep observed three of them:

  1. Same-session-stubs in cite-back queue (memory note #1): N/A this sweep — the 2 new stubs (a-focalism, logos-of-the-sensible) are NOT Wiki homes for any of the 9 promoted claims; they're forward-positioned content stubs from silent-key Phase 2. No new-claim cite-back required on them. (The forward-cite from a-focalism to its single MP-attestation source is via sources: frontmatter only.)
  2. Iterate Wiki-homes fields, not run-report prose (memory note #2): observed. The fourteenth-run Phase 8 report's §8.9 prose enumeration listed ~23 pages explicitly; iterating each promoted claim's Wiki homes: field directly from claims.md surfaced [[politics-mp]] as a missed Wiki home for mp-principal-condition-1945-pre-figures-ht-ad (live). W2 caught and updated it. Without this discipline, the page would have remained un-cited.
  3. Stale status framing on existing claim-citations (memory note #3): observed at high volume. Four pages in the ILUL cluster (involuntary-literature, engagement-through-disengagement, etre-humain-est-un-parti, writing-and-living) had (candidate) framing for mp-1953-anticipates-1955-action-of-unveiling-vs-governing from the same-morning ingest, promoted to live in Phase 8 but never updated. W4 fixed all four. Three more pages in the conquering-language cluster carried stale (candidate) framing for conquering-language-as-coherent-deformation-of-language — W6 fixed all three. One stale (candidate) on karl-marx for mp-principal-condition-1945-pre-figures-ht-ad — W6 fixed. The stale-framing failure mode is the modal failure mode in this corpus, not an edge case.
  4. Dead claim-references on concept pages (memory note #4): no instance encountered in this sweep — the 9 promoted slugs all exist in claims.md as H2 headings.

Typed-connection conformance — concerns flagged

CLAUDE.md specifies a closed list of typed connections (*extends*, *critiques*, *applies*, *contrasts with*, *is a case of*, *is a reformulation of*, *is a middle term between*, *is the condition of intelligibility of*, *enacts*, plus v0d.7 additions *shares mechanism with*, *requires*). Lint enforcement is currently scoped to weave Pass 3 reports' Relation: bullets (per CLAUDE.md), but concept-page typed connections are still on-spec when they conform.

Wave-1 work used three off-spec typed-connection labels:

  1. *is the 1953-54 anchor of* on logos-of-the-sensible.md Connections (→ wild-being). Off-spec; semantically a date-qualified specialization of *is a middle term between* or *is the condition of intelligibility of*. W1 reported this and flagged for adjudication.
  2. *bridges to* on logos-of-the-sensible.md Connections (→ Nature III). Off-spec; similar.
  3. *is genealogical predecessor of* on logos-of-the-sensible.md Connections (→ V&I logos endiathetos). Off-spec.
  4. *is the positive program in* on a-focalism.md Connections (→ antithetic-critique-of-sartre). Off-spec; W1 used as a semantically-tighter alternative to *is a case of*.
  5. *is the perceptual register of* on lived-perspective.md Connections (→ paul-cezanne). Off-spec; W2 used to encode the register-relation across concept and entity. (Note: it actually appears on the new H2 subsection's content, not in Connections — let me re-verify. Either way: off-spec.)

W3 explicitly rewrote one off-spec proposal (*has 1953-54 pre-history in*) to in-list *shares mechanism with* — a good catch. W2 used the very common but technically passive-form *is reformulated in* (canonical is *is a reformulation of*); this is a widespread codebase pattern (12+ existing uses).

Recommendation (not blocking). These five off-spec labels could be rewritten with closed-list types in a future cleanup pass. The most defensible re-mappings:

  • *is the 1953-54 anchor of* → *is the condition of intelligibility of* (logos-of-sensible enables wild-being's logos-of-Being formulation).
  • *bridges to* → *is a middle term between* (logos-of-the-sensible bridges PbP empirical to Nature III ontological).
  • *is genealogical predecessor of* → *is a middle term between* (logos-of-the-sensible is between [pre-MP source if known] and V&I logos endiathetos) OR keep as descriptive prose.
  • *is the positive program in* → *enacts* (a-focalism enacts the consciousness-structure the antithetic-critique calls for).
  • *is the perceptual register of* → *is a case of* or rewrite in prose.

Schema-extension alternative: propose adding *is genealogical predecessor of* to the closed list as a v0d.9 amendment, since multiple concept pages use this informally. Maintainer adjudication required.

The cite-back walk's high drift-fixing yield (4 + 3 + 1 = 8 stale-framing fixes) supports the diagnosis's claim that the wiki's gates fire on promotion, not on retirement, and that downstream framing-update discipline is a load-bearing job for the audit's follow-up phase.
