Confidence recalibration — audit v1.9 Phase 7 main pass (2026-06-23)

Run: v1.9 Plato-cohort comprehensive audit · branch claude/audit-2026-06-23 Method: main-thread survey, cross-referencing Phases 1/2/4/6 first (per M5). Confidence = maintainer confidence that a page accurately represents its sources. ±1-step moves auto-approved; 2-step or →speculative HALT.

Finding: the Plato cohort is already well-calibrated — no main-pass changes

Plato source pages (38): 26 high / 5 medium / 7 low. The split tracks textual status correctly — the low/medium pages are the dubia and spuria (disputed/false authorship, thinner extraction); the high pages are the genuine major/mid dialogues. This is correct calibration: a dubium should be low. No moves.

Plato-native concept pages (~32): nearly all high (multi-source, well-extracted), with daimonion and the new homoiosis-theoi at medium. Both mediums are appropriate — daimonion is a thin single-figure concept; homoiosis-theoi is new and single-source (carefully synthesized). No moves.

epistemic_status: novel: none on Plato pages (they are established/historical, appropriate for ancient philosophy with settled scholarship). No moves.

Cross-reference to the audit's own phases (the upgrade-trigger check, M5)

  • Phase 1 found the cohort "internally sound and well-extracted" — no representation-accuracy downgrades warranted; its findings were about claim evidence-anchoring (→ Phase 8) and connective gaps (→ Phase 4), not page-source fidelity.
  • Phase 4 added cross-links and resolved the Republic 473c–d gap — connectivity, not new evidence that changes representation-confidence. (The Republic page is already high.)
  • Phase 6 verified 31/32 citations clean — this supports the existing high values; no downgrade.
  • Phase 2 silent keys were mostly routed to backlog (no subsection writes landed that would establish a new term as load-bearing and trigger an upgrade this run).

Conclusion: the representation-confidence layer needs no main-pass edits. Any changes will surface in the Phase 7 addendum (Step 8.8) if the Phase-8 promotion walk materially changes a concept page's evidential standing — appended to synthetic-layer-2026-06-23.md.

Output

  • 0 frontmatter changes (main pass). Addendum deferred to post-Phase-8.
