Citation integrity spot-check — comprehensive audit 2026-06-07 (Phase 6)

Method: sample of 20 citations (built by a read-only selector, citation-sample-2026-06-07.md) weighted to fabrication risk — ≈12 on the 4 newest sources + derived concept pages, ≈4 audit-produced / claim-home pages, ≈3 older pre-traceability MP pages, + 1 explicit Faul-pattern probe. Verified by 4 parallel citation-verifier subagents (Opus), each tracing to extraction-note / source-page Key Passage / raw.

Result: 18 PASS · 1 UNCERTAIN · 0 FAIL · 0 fabrications

Stop-condition NOT triggered (the Faul "multiple fabrications → halt whole audit" rule). The biased sample landed 7 H-risk citations (works not in raw/ with specific journal/volume/page refs — the documented fabrication surface); all 7 cleared by tracing to in-raw/ citing-chapter apparatus (bibliographies / endnotes) or extraction notes. The negative result is evidence fabrications aren't concentrated where expected; it does not certify the unsampled corpus (R3 caveat).

Faul-pattern probe — CLEAN

  • Fabricated pattern ("Painter's Courage" / JBSP 55:2 attributed to Faul / JBSP 2024-Faul title) absent from every body page; survives only in incident-documentation (log.md, claims.md:651 Counterpressure, schema-changelog.md, CLAUDE.md, AUDIT_PLAN.md).
  • Real paper present + correctly cited: Faul, "Ontologically Interactive Painting," JBSP 55:2, 184–197 (2024) — raw/Faul_2024_Ontologically_Interactive_Painting.md, cited from faul-2024 + 6 pages + index.

The one UNCERTAIN — fixed

#14 eternal-recurrence Löwith Positions bullet. Not a fabrication (Löwith's 1935 book is real; Chouraqui 2014, in raw/, cites it), but: (a) title/year drift — entry gave "Eternal Return of the Same" dated 1935 as if English; the work is Nietzsches Philosophie der ewigen Wiederkehr des Gleichen (1935 German; Lomax trans. …Eternal Recurrence… 1997); (b) the "cosmological-thesis-in-crisis" characterization is unanchored (Löwith not in raw/) and Chouraqui actually deploys Löwith approvingly (being-becoming merger), not as a crisis-foil. Fix applied 2026-06-07: corrected title/German-original + translation year, softened the characterization to "classically read as holding recurrence in tension between cosmological and ethical-anthropological senses," and added an explicit verify-against-Löwith caveat. updated bumped.

Optional follow-ups noted by verifiers (below citation-defect threshold; not actioned)

  • cinematographic-mechanism L44: "Bergson's reply acknowledges" reads more concessive than the actual Revue du mois reply (a rebuttal); could soften — not a citation defect.
  • ecart: Carbone locator could add the title "Flesh: Towards the History of a Misunderstanding" for self-documentation — enhancement only.
  • Sample annotation for #7 ("external attribution") was slightly off (it's in the Translator's Preface) — sample-file note, not a wiki defect.

Net Phase-6 actions: 1 citation-hygiene fix (eternal-recurrence). 0 removals, 0 confidence downgrades, 0 fabrications.
